Join us for a series of thought-provoking films and live conversations that celebrate disability stories, representation and community.

Saturday, October 10 @ 2 p.m.

Celebrate disability culture through a collection of short films exploring identity, creativity and lived experience. ReelShorts: Disability Culture features White Nine, Them That’s Not, The How We Look Project and The Blind Reggaetonera, followed by a post-film discussion.

Saturday, October 10 @ 6:30 p.m. 

Close out ReelAbilities at Kean with Espina, about a paraplegic Venezuelan expat who sets out on a journey ahead of spinal surgery, paired with the short film Babka. The festival concludes with a brief post-film discussion.

The festival features inclusive screenings with open captions and audio descriptions, plus live discussions featuring AI-powered captioning, all in a wheelchair-accessible venue.

ReelAbilities at Kean University is hosted by Kean Stage and co-sponsored by CRECE: The Center for Raising Excellence and Cultural Empowerment and the Council on Global Education and Citizenship, Well-Being at Kean, and other campus and community partners.
