2 Home Burglaries Reported In Cedar Grove; Cops Seek Suspect
Both homes were "ransacked," Cedar Grove police say.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove police issued a warning for local residents after two home burglaries took place on Friday, authorities said.
According to a police news release, the burglaries took place on Lynwood Road and Yorkshire Drive. Authorities released the following statement about the incidents on Saturday:
“Police initially responded to the Lynwood Rd address at 11:51 a.m. on a report of a burglary in progress. Entry had been forced through a rear window. The actor is described as a black male, in his mid to late 40's, wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. He had short hair, a heavier build, and looked to be about average height. He was seen fleeing from the residence carrying a white pillow case. The suspect then ran to what looked like a blue Honda SUV and threw the pillow case into the open hatch in the rear of the vehicle. The suspect then got into the driver seat and fled in the direction of Ridge Road. Later that evening at 11:12 p.m., returning residents discovered the second burglary. Entry had been forced through the front door. Both homes were ransacked, jewelry and cash were taken. The detective bureau processed the scene for physical evidence and is now conducting a follow-up investigation. Directed patrols will be conducted.”
