3 Arrested In Cedar Grove, Charged With Labor Day Car Burglary Spree
Police received a call about a "suspicious" vehicle in the area prior to making the arrests, authorities say.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove police arrested three Newark men on Labor Day and charged them with breaking into at least three parked cars near Haller Drive, authorities say.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, the men were apprehended in a 2005 Chrysler which was stolen out of Montclair, although its owner wasn’t aware until contacted by officers.
Police received a call around 10:51 p.m. notifying them that there was a “suspicious” vehicle on Haller Drive. According to the caller, the three occupants of the car exited the vehicle and began walking down Haller Drive towards Sherman Avenue.

Responding Cedar Grove officers found the three suspects – later identified as Danny Gonzalez, 19, Antonio L. Torres, 19, and Isaiah D. Pettus, 18 – on Haller Drive. According to police, the arriving officers also observed multiple parked cars in the area with their interior lights on.
After conducting an investigation, police determined that the three men allegedly entered “at least three cars” and stole items including a GPS unit, a debit card, an umbrella and loose change, authorities stated.

All three suspects were processed at police headquarters and released pending a Superior Court arraignment in Newark on Sept. 15.
