3 Burglaries In Cedar Grove, Front Doors ‘Smashed’: Police
Cedar Grove police are asking anyone with security cameras in that area to check their video footage for suspicious activity.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove police are investigating three burglaries that took place last week. Jewelry and cash were taken, authorities said.
On Monday, the Cedar Grove Police Department issued the following advisory about a trio of incidents that took place on Friday, June 8:
“Police officers respond to a Lafayette Drive residence on the report of a burglary that had occurred sometime between 7 and 10 p.m. that evening, when residents were out at dinner. While en route, police received a call reporting the second burglary on the same street and subsequently officers discovered the third while canvassing the neighborhood. Access was gained to the homes by smashing the front doors. Bedrooms and bathroom were ransacked. Jeweler and cash were targeted.”

“We are asking residents to be extra vigilante between the hours of 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. when residents are out and burglars are active,” police stated. “Patrols have been redirected, focusing on anti-burglary activities during those times. Any person observing suspicious activity is asked to contact the police department at 973-239-4100 or 9-1-1. Residents are advised to lock and alarm their homes when away.”
