VERONA, NJ — The Verona Township Council has unveiled a Community Energy Plan on Monday outlining proposed energy and sustainability initiatives for the next three to five years.
Prepared by DMR Architects in collaboration with township officials, Sustainable Verona and community stakeholders, the plan serves as a roadmap to improve energy efficiency, expand renewable energy opportunities, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and position the township for future clean energy grant funding.
Developed through a grant from New Jersey's Clean Energy Program, the draft includes proposals to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure, improve the efficiency of the municipal fleet, support community solar projects, upgrade energy efficiency in township facilities and increase public outreach about energy-saving programs.
Township officials encourage residents to review the draft plan and presentation to learn more about the proposed initiatives and provide input.
