The clinician, based at the Verona Community Center, will serve Verona and neighboring West Essex towns, building on the department's long-standing crisis intervention training for all officers.
• Verona School Board Calls for New Joint Meeting With Council, Renewing Push for PILOT Funding (tapinto.net) — Verona school leaders are renewing pressure on the Town Council to share future PILOT revenues with the district, arguing new tax-abated developments add students without funding their education. After painful staff cuts and rising costs, they're pushing for a joint meeting to lock in specific, long-term terms before the next PILOT at 383 Bloomfield Ave and beyond is approved.
