Cedar Grove Playground Plans Are On The Upswing

Upper and lower playground projects are moving ahead at Community Park, including $65,000 in resurfacing.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove is moving ahead with two Community Park playground projects, including a $65,000 resurfacing contract for the upper playground. For residents, the improvements represent an investment in updated recreational spaces used by local children and families.

The township authorized the upper playground contract with Rubber Recycle LLC of Lakewood during the Monday, August 17, council meeting, according to Cedar Grove's August manager's memo.

Officials also approved a $561.85 change order for the lower playground that day. The adjustment will cover 15 feet of curb wall instead of a flush curb, bringing the contract's maximum authorized amount to $689,786.24.

The lower playground work is funded through a $750,000 Green Acres grant, the township said.

Cedar Grove has not announced when construction will begin or be completed, or whether playground access will be restricted.
