Women’s Wellness Space Seeks Zoning Approval In Verona

Flor Da Vida wants to open a space focused on prenatal, postpartum and menstrual health at 3 Claridge Road.

VERONA, NJ — A women's wellness business is seeking zoning approval to open a space in Verona focused on prenatal, postpartum and menstrual health.

Flor Da Vida Women's Wellness has applied to operate at 3 Claridge Road, according to the Verona Board of Adjustment's agenda. The board is scheduled to hear the application at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, in the Verona Community Center ballroom, 880 Bloomfield Avenue.

The proposal requires a use variance because a wellness space is not listed as a permitted principal or conditional use in the property's A-3 zoning district.

Flor Da Vida describes itself on its website as a "womb spa" offering support through different stages of reproductive health. "We are more than menstrual care," the business says. Its website lists bodywork, classes, prenatal and postpartum programs and womb-healing services. The business's website says its hours are by appointment.

The application is one of three new matters listed for Thursday. The board is also scheduled to consider residential variance requests involving a previously constructed deck and fence at 5 Balston Drive and a proposed patio and inground pool at 151 Forest Avenue.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in person only. Residents can review the agenda through the township's website. The agenda does not specify when Flor Da Vida would ultimately open if the board grants approval.
