Bella Gente Kicks of Partnership With Verona Schools

Eat at Bella Gente in Verona on Thursdays and help donate money to the Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence.

Diners will now be able to raise money for Verona schools every time they eat at Bella Gente on Thursdays.

Starting Thursday, May 2, patrons will be able to write "Verona Schools" on the top of their bill and Bella Gente will donate 10 percent of the check to the Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence (VFEE), said owner Kim Cheung.

Donations will be made on any bill whether its eat-in, take-out or catered on every Thursday, said Cheung. There is no end date and Cheung says he would like to continue to donate as long as he is the owner of Bella Gente.

"Nearly 100 perent of donations goes directly to the schools," said VFEE President Douglas Smith. "So the more we raise the more we give back to the schools."

Verona Superintendent Steven Forte says he is happy to get involved with any local business to raise money for the schools and recently launched a partnership with DeCozen Chrysler Jeep Dodge.
