June is "Adopt a Shelter Cat" Month

These kitties have been waiting the longest at our shelter and deserve a loving forever home instead of a lonely metal cage. Celebrate "Adopt a Shelter Cat" month by adopting one!

June is National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month!  Are you ready to bring a new cat into your home and are considering buying from a pet store or breeder? Please take a moment to consider saving the life of a shelter animal instead.

Adopting a shelter animal can be so rewarding in many ways and you are helping in more ways than you realize.

FACT: Each year MILLIONS of unwanted cats are euthanized. Sadly, the majority of these cats are ideal pets which are well behaved, friendly and affectionate and have no reason to die, they may have simply been a statistic of irresponsible pet ownership and abandoned or neglected or just had a bout of bad luck in some form or another.

When you choose to adopt a shelter animal realize that you are truly saving a life!  You are a hero to that cat and your positive action is responsible for allowing them to continue living a happy and fulfilling life. If that isn’t satisfaction enough, I don’t know what is!

Check out these photos of some of our cats that have been waiting at the shelter the longest for a forever home and need the most help.  I call them "The Forgotten" because they have been abandoned and continue to wait so very long.  These cats spend most of their hours bored and lonely in a metal shelter cage, just waiting for someone to come in and give them a chance and a forever home.  Some have been waiting a very long time for no good reason, overlooked with no choice but to continue to wait in their cages.

Some of them have been in the shelter since kittens and don't know what real freedom is, and how much better it can get in a big house where they are free to roam all the time and have a loving owner to cuddle with too.  They just appreciate the simple things and accept their fate and continue to wait patiently.
