The American Night Light
More and more, the threats that are now shaping our country. The Boston Marathon, the World Trade Center Bombings, without the knowledge of such violations how can we ever be protected?

As early as 1920, the American people felt the effects of one terrorist attack. From 1975 to 1991 there had been 15 attacks and from 1993 to 1998 Americans faced another 5 attacks.
However, the greatest increase in attacks came from 2000 to 2013, where there have been approximately 30 attacks on Americans. As the numbers have grown over the years and the threat becoming more domestic-based, we must find solutions.
One way to find such prevention is by examining history. More and more, we are becoming unaware of the threats that are now shaping our country. The Boston Marathon, the World Trade Center Bombings, and the plan to attack Times Square, without the knowledge of such violations how can we ever be protected? More importantly, how can we ever live without fear? Our protections have become compromised and even with justice there are no real winners.

Earlier generations of Americans pledged their lives to the cause of individual freedom. We need to do the same. Perhaps we need to use the same night light that a young child uses to fend off scary monsters. It’s our only way to not be harmed by the dark and to once again to live in the light.
