Buy Rite in Cedar Grove Celebrating One Year Anniversary

Buy Rite Liquors in Cedar Grove is getting ready to celebrate its one-year anniversary in the ownship.

Co-owner Ed Grasso isn't sure what's in store for the anniversary just yet, but he may be planning something special for the March 29.

“We offer a diverse selection of wines and liquors and we also specialize in craft beers,” said Grasso.

They sell all the standard beers like Budweiser, which has a loyal following, but also sell a lot of Sam Adams and local favorites like Cricket Hill, which is brewed in Fairfield.

“What's most popular is the seasonals,” said Grasso. “People love the pumpkin ales but we sell a lot of summer and winter seasonals as well.”

Grasso is a wine drinker, he says, and is always happy to provide a recommendation for a gift, for dinner or to someone who wants to try something new. However, all the products are a matter of preference, he said, and what he may enjoy someone else might not like while they may prefer something he wouldn't particularly enjoy.

Buy Rite, located at 402 Pompton Ave., has a selection of fine high-end wines like Perrier Joulet Fleur Rose for $359 a bottle, but the store also sells a wide selection of wines in the $10 to $20 range, which tends to be more popular, he said.

Manager and family friend Greg Sayle also has extensive product knowledge is also willing to make some recommendations to customers.

“We have great customer service, a quality selection and a willingness to listen to the customers wants and needs,” said Sayle. “It's a great location and we have something for everyone.”

Buy Rite Liquors is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
