CEDAR GROVE, NJ — In the end, Cedar Grove police officer Anthony Cardona may have enjoyed his appearance at South End School more than the kids.

Earlier this month, as part of Read Across America, a nationwide reading awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading, South End School invited Cardona to read to the 2nd graders during Miss Hios' class.

The Cedar Grove officer treated kids to a storybook and a Q&A session afterwards.

“I would like to thank Ms. DeNunzio for the invite, it’s a fantastic program,” Cedar Grove Police Chief Joseph Cirasa said. “I believe Officer Cardona may have enjoyed it more than the kids.”
