Cedar Grove Cops Arrest Belleville Man: Found Him Allegedly Intoxicated And Broken-Down On Devonshire Road

Officers weren't able to determine what type of crash the Belleville man had been in prior to his arrest, Cedar Grove police say.

Cedar Grove, NJ - Cedar Grove police arrested a Belleville man after allegedly finding him intoxicated and sleeping in a broken-down car on Devonshire Road, authorities stated.

According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, officers responded to the area around 3:29 a.m. on Nov. 25 to find Kevin J. Rizzo, 21, asleep inside his car which was parked in the middle of the street.

Rizzo’s car had its front bumper hanging off and both front tires were flat, police said.

When an officer spoke to Rizzo, he allegedly detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and noticed signs of impairment, police stated.

Police arrested Rizzo and charged him with DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
