Cedar Grove Cops Earn Promotions: Conlon, Russomanno

They're two of Cedar Grove's finest law enforcement officers, according to their chief.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — They’re two of Cedar Grove’s finest law enforcement officers, according to their chief.

Last week, Cedar Grove officials hosted a promotion ceremony for two local police officers: Lt. Edward Conlon and Sgt. Joseph Russomanno.

According to a news release from the Cedar Grove Police Department, Conlon has 24 years of service to the township. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Delaware and graduated from Essex County Police Academy. He was appointed as police officer in 1995, and is the recipient of commendations including: Life Saving, Outstanding Police Action, Meritorious Service and Criminal Apprehension.

Russomanno has 12 years of service to the township. He holds a bachelor of arts from Montclair State University and graduated from the Essex County Police Academy. He was appointed as a police officer in 2007. He has been the recipient of commendations including Life Saving, Outstanding Police Action and Meritorious Service.

“Lt. Conlon and Sgt. Russomanno worked very hard to earn these promotions and are two of our finest,” Chief Joseph Cirasa said.
