Cedar Grove Cops Find Alleged Check Forger Hiding On Car Floor: Police
A New York man allegedly tried to cash a $1,286 check, then hid from arriving officers on the floor of his car, Cedar Grove police say.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove police arrested a New York man earlier this month after he allegedly attempted to cash a fake check at TD Bank and tried to hide from officers in his car, authorities say.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, workers at the TD Bank on Pompton Avenue called headquarters around 12:39 p.m. on Aug. 1 to report that a man attempted to cash a fraudulent, forged check for $1,286. Employees told officers that the suspect walked out of the bank and entered a waiting vehicle.
Police later located the described vehicle parked in the upper lot of the Pilgrim Plaza, with the suspect – identified as Mark D. Bradley, 54, of the Bronx, NY – allegedly attempting to hide from view on the car floor, authorities said.

After further investigation, officers determined that Bradley had allegedly used a fraudulent Delaware driver’s license with a false name while attempting to cash the check. During processing, officers also determined Bradley was wanted on outstanding warrants issued by the East Orange and North Plainfield Municipal Courts.
Police turned Bradley over to the East Orange Police Department on their warrant. He is scheduled to appear for a Superior Court arraignment in Newark on Aug. 17 for the Cedar Grove charges.
