Cedar Grove Cops Find Stolen Car In Newark; Key Fob Left Inside
The car owner told Cedar Grove police that they just purchased the car and didn't realize that there was a spare key fob inside.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Authorities recovered a car stolen out of Cedar Grove in Newark earlier this week. The car’s owner said that they left a spare key fob in the vehicle the night it was stolen, police said.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, a Cedar Street resident called officers around 7:50 a.m. on Monday and said that someone stole their 2018 Lincoln MKC during the overnight hours. The owner told police that they just purchased the car and didn’t realize that there was a spare key fob inside.
Using a cell phone app, the owner and authorities were able to track the car to North 13th Street in Newark. Cedar Grove detectives found the vehicle parked and unoccupied in the area. Police processed the car on scene, then returned it to the owners.
