Cedar Grove Cops Make More Pot Arrests: 14 In 22 Days
Police in Cedar Grove have arrested 14 people for marijuana possession in 22 days.

Cedar Grove, NJ – Cedar Grove police officers made four more marijuana-related arrests last week, authorities stated.
Including the four recent cases, Cedar Grove police have arrested at least 14 people for marijuana possession from Feb. 1 to Feb. 22.

On Friday, February 19 at 12:25 a.m., a Cedar Grove officer initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. As the officer was securing the operator’s credentials, he allegedly detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of an 18 year-old woman from Garfield after she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia (ceramic pipe w/marijuana residue, rolling papers and numerous bags containing marijuana residue). She was processed on the charge at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
On Friday, February 19, at 11:23 p.m., two Cedar Grove officers allegedly observed a group of individuals on Mills Reservation property after the posted curfew. As the officers investigated, they allegedly detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the area where the group was standing. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of two of the subjects on drug related charges. An 18 year-old from Bergenfield was charged with the possession of CDS marijuana (under 50g) and possession of drug paraphernalia (rolling papers and pipe) and an 18 year-old from Bergenfield was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (plastic bag w/marijuana residue and metal grinder). Both defendants were processed at police headquarters and released pending Municipal Court appearances.

On Saturday, February 20, at 3:15 p.m., a Cedar Grove officer initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed speeding violation. As the officer secured the operator’s credentials, he allegedly detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 26 year-old woman from Newark after she was found to be in possession of CDS marijuana (under 50g) and drug paraphernalia (a glass pipe). She was processed on all charges at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
On Monday, February 22, at 2:11 a.m., a Cedar Grove officer initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. As the officer secured the operator’s credentials, he allegedly detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 26 year-old woman from West Orange after she was found to be in possession of CDS marijuana (under 50g) and drug paraphernalia (rolling papers and cigar wrappers). She was processed on the charges at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
