Cedar Grove EMS Squad Offers Free Training: ‘Until Help Arrives’
The Cedar Grove EMS Squad is offering local residents free training on April 11 that may help save a life.

The news is full of stories about unexpected situations where our communities are faced with people who sustain critical injuries that can change the courses of their lives in minutes. Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast. Emergency responders aren’t always nearby. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately. Community members, teachers, friends, family and co-workers are the help until help arrives.
According to a recent National Academies of Science study, trauma is the leading cause of death for Americans under age 46. Life-threatening injuries require immediate action to prevent an injured person from dying. Those nearest to someone with life threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care.

The “Until Help Arrives” free training that is being offered on April 11 at the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad allows people to learn how to help by teaching life-saving skills in a format fit for non-medical professionals. Topics Include:
- Calling 9-1-1
- Scene Safety
- Stop the Bleed - Torniquet Application
- Positioning the Injured
- Providing Comfort to the critically injured
The Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad is offering this community outreach program on April 11 at their building located at 651 Pompton Ave, Cedar Grove from 6:30 to 9:30. Members will be available before and after the program to give building tours and answer questions about volunteering.
