Cedar Grove Man Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Family Member, Cops: Authorities

The Cedar Grove man was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident, police say.

Cedar Grove, NJ – Cedar Grove police arrested an allegedly intoxicated local man earlier this month after he reportedly assaulted a family member and kicked police officers, authorities said.

According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, officers responded to an Apple Tree Lane home around 5 p.m. on May 9 on a report of “an intoxicated man acting strangely.”

Police arrested Todd R. Green, 47, of Cedar Grove, after he allegedly assaulted a family member in the officers’ presence and then resisted arrest, kicking the officers attempting to restrain him and allegedly spitting on one, authorities stated.

Police charged Green with one count of assault, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and one count of throwing bodily fluid at a police officer.

Green was processed and released pending a Superior Court Arraignment in Newark on May 25.
