Cedar Grove Police Arrest Alleged Car Burglar Twice In 1 Hour
A 20-year-old Little Falls resident is accused of committing back-to-back vehicle burglaries in Cedar Grove.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — A 20-year-old Little Falls resident is accused of committing back-to-back vehicle burglaries in Cedar Grove earlier this month, with the second incident taking place only 40 minutes after the first, police said.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, officers responded to a Highview Terrace home on a report of a burglary in process at 1:48 a.m. on Nov. 2. The homeowner told police that he awoke to a noise coming from his driveway, then checked his Ring security camera and saw a man inside his vehicle. He “confronted and detained” the suspected car burglar until officers arrived, authorities stated.
The 20-year-old Little Falls – who was not identified in an initial police statement – was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in court, authorities said.

Just 40 minutes after releasing the accused burglar, officers responded to the area of Tierney Drive on a report of person attempting to enter several vehicles. On scene, officers found the same man, who was “attempting to burglarize the vehicles,” police said.
Officers arrested the man again, processed him and transported him to the Essex County Correctional Facility. No additional information was immediately available.
