According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, an officer saw a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle with no visible license plate traveling east on Reservoir Drive around 2:42 p.m. When the officer attempted to stop the motorcycle, its rider, Latwan Munford, 36, of Montclair, weaved around a nearby vehicle and sped away east onto Normal Avenue.

The officer activated his lights and siren, but the rider refused to stop and continued toward the direction of Montclair State University, police said.
