Cedar Grove Police Chief Issues ‘Thank You’ For National Night Out 2016

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove Police Chief Richard Vanderstreet issued the following letter to the editor regarding the department’s 2016 National Night Out effort.

“On Tuesday, Aug. 2., the Cedar Grove Police Department hosted a National Night Out Event in Community Park. Although this was a police department event, it could not have been the success that it was without the help and support of the many different groups and individuals that participated.

“The police department wishes to express its sincere thanks to the Cedar Grove Municipal Alliance for once again helping to make this event possible. We would also like to thank the following: the Cedar Grove Township Manager, the Township Council, the Recreation Department, the Department of Public Works, our fine Rescue Squad and Fire Department, the West Caldwell Fire Department, the Verona and Little Falls Police Departments, FBI Newark Division, the Mountainside Hospital-Atlantic Paramedics, the Cedar Grove Elks, Knights of Columbus of Verona & Cedar Grove, Knights of Columbus of Little Falls, Coca-Cola Products, Nicholas Markets Foodtown, Kings of Verona, Arctic Falls, David’s Cookies, Investors Bank, Rainbow Catering, Master Cho’s Talium, Alaris Health, Alpine Entertainment, Horizon Entertainment, Mountainside Stables, The Mad Hatters, Performance Food Service, Heinz, Sabrett’s, Nathan’s, Cedar Grove Unico and Esposito’s Pizza & Deli for the zeppolies, Il Tulipano for the hamburgers, and Jacqueline Wolfstirn of Sinful Sweets for the cookie decorating table.

“We would also like to thank the many residents that came out for NNO, helping to make it a great success and a true community event. Finally, I would like to thank our NNO Coordinator Officer Carolyn Zajack for her hard work in bringing the event together along with the rank and file of the Cedar Grove Police Department.

“An event such as National Night Out demonstrates what a dedicated group of men and women we have serving the residents of Cedar Grove 365 days a year.”
