Cedar Grove's 'Friday Night Feat' in Running for Cash Prize

Touchdown on blocked field goal attempt against Verona makes final 10 in national website contest.

The Cedar Grove Panthers are still walking on air after . Now, a moment from the first game of the season has landed them in the running to win up to $17,500 for Cedar Grove schools.

In the Sept. 10 season opener against Verona, The Panthers snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by returning a blocked field goal attempt for a last-second victory over the rival Hillbillies.

State Farm Insurance Company is sponsoring a competition where people can vote on which athletic moment from a high school football game this past season is worthy of prizes for the winners' schools.

Out of 52 teams whose videos were submitted for the contest, Cedar Grove's blocked field goal return has made the top 10. A video of the end of the game can be viewed here.

Cedar Grove Schools now have a chance to win the first place prize of $15,000. There is also a second place prize of $10,000 and a third place prize of $5,000. Each of the top 3 finalists will receive an additional $2,500.

You, the viewer, gets to decide if the district will win by voting for one of the best Panther Football finishes of all time. Voting runs until Dec. 16.
