Cedar Grove Schools Holding Fall Clothing Drive

Proceeds to benefit variety of FSA-sponsored programs.

A clothing drive is set for Nov. 4 and 5 to benefit both Cedar Grove Township elementary schools. The collecting companies pay the schools by the pound for clothing and other items.  They then arrange for the clothing and other items to get to families in need, nationally and internationally.

Residents are asked to donate usable items in the following categories:  men’s, women’s and children’s clothing; shoes and sneakers; hats; belts; purses; blankets; curtains; bed linens; comforters; bedspreads; towels; and stuffed animals. Baby gear/toys not acceptable.

Bags can be dropped off in the parking lots at both North End School (on Stevens Avenue) and South End School (Fox Road, near baseball field).  Drop-off times for North End School are Friday evening, Nov. 4, between 6-8 p.m., and on Saturday morning, Nov. 5, from 8-10 a.m. At North End, donations can be comingled, but please place them in sturdy plastic bags.  Drop-off times for South End School are Friday evening, Nov. 4, between 6-8 p.m., and on Saturday morning, Nov. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.  Items donated at South End must be placed in well-tied, sturdy black garbage bags, and shoes need to be bagged separately.
