CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Three students in Cedar Grove earned recognition for their essays on “Why Our Veterans Are America’s Heroes” during a recent contest held by the Cedar Grove Elks Lodge.

During a ceremony on Dec. 18, Emma Seber, Brooke Baskinger and Jocelyn Dupas were presented with flags and an “All-American Lodge Pin.” Their essays follow below.
