Cedar Grove, Verona Firefighters Battle Warehouse Blaze On Little Falls Road

Arriving first responders found black smoke coming from the building, Cedar Grove police said.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove and Verona emergency responders extinguished a warehouse fire on Little Falls Road last week with no injuries, authorities stated.

According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, fire and police responded to King Engine Bearings on Little Falls Road on report of an activated fire alarm around 1:16 a.m. on Wednesday. On arrival, responders found black smoke coming from the building and made entry into the warehouse, extinguishing the flames without any reported injuries.

The fire caused damage to the contents of the warehouse, in addition to water damage by the activation of the sprinkler system from the fire, authorities said.

The fire did not immediately appear to be suspicious and the exact cause is under investigation, Cedar Grove police said.

“On 9/14/16, Verona's Engine 11 responded mutual aid into Cedar Grove for a working fire in a commercial building on Little Falls Road. Upon arrival, Engine 11 members split up into two crews, one on the inside of the structure and one operating as the Rapid Intervention Team on the exterior. VFD members assisted Cedar Grove firefighters with overhaul of the fire building as well as checking for fire extension. Engine 11 was released from the scene after approximately an hour and a half and responded to another call in town immediately after being released.”
