Men Attack Inflatable Santa In Cedar Grove: Cops

Two men pulled up in a Jeep, repeatedly punched a Santa decoration and peeled away, police say.

Cedar Grove, NJ - Two men mounted a nighttime attack on a Cedar Grove homeowner’s inflatable Santa decoration last week, police reported.

According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, an Anderson Parkway homeowner told police that his neighbor spotted a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee pull up in front of his home around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 9.

The neighbor then allegedly saw two men exit the vehicle, run up to an inflatable Santa Claus Christmas decoration on the front lawn and “punch” it repeatedly.

According to the homeowner’s neighbor, the men got back into their vehicle and drove away towards Stevens Avenue, police said.

After inspecting the assaulted Santa decoration, Cedar Grove police officers reported that it had been punctured in multiple places.

Police conducted a search in the area for the suspects with negative results.

The Santa decoration is valued at $100, police said.
