Cops Seek Witnesses To Fatal Verona Hit-And-Run: PHOTOS

Police are asking for the public's help identifying individuals who may have witnessed a fatal hit-and-run in Verona, New Jersey.

Verona, NJ – Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying individuals who may have witnessed a fatal hit-and-run in Verona on June 24.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, local businessman and longtime Verona resident Matthew Beneduce McGrath, 59, was crossing south to north on Bloomfield Avenue near Hillcrest around 9:30 p.m. when a motor vehicle struck him.

The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 9:58 p.m., authorities said.

Authorities are looking to identify the individuals in the photographs who may have been witnesses to the incident.[See photographs]
