Dance Party For Autism Awareness In Essex County

The free event at Platinum Fitness is open to children and adults with special needs.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Platinum Fitness in Verona will host a “Health and Wellness Dance Party” for Autism Awareness Month on Saturday, April 6.

According to a news release, Caldwell resident Yomi Karade will lead a fun-packed event for children and adults with special needs, which will have a theme of “wear something blue and spread love.”

The event is funded by Autism Speaks, and will take place from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcome to support Individualized Fitness Program for adults and children with special needs. All participants must be accompanied by a caregiver or parent throughout the event. Age restrictions may apply.

Karade, who has a son with autism and other special needs, said the dance party “is going to be a blast.”
