Daniel Pritchard Foundation Holding Fundraiser, Raffle Event Tonight

50/50 raffle drawing July 20 at O'Neil's.

Relatives and close friends of a young man who was slain two years ago during a robbery at a gas station in Verona are rallying the community together to support victims of violent crimes and their families.

The Daniel Pritchard Foundation is selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle drawing to be held at O'Neil's Restaurant and Pub in Verona July 20. Proceeds will be used to support the foundation's efforts, which include awarding a $1,000 annual scholarship to a Verona High School senior.

The inspiration for the foundation is Daniel Pritchard, who was working at the Sunoco station on Pompton Avenue on February 22, 2009 when two men attempted to rob the station. Pritchard was shot and killed in the exchange. He was 29 years old.

The mission of the foundation is to give back to the local community, which, to Pritchard, a graduate of Verona High School, was very important.

For additional information on the event, or how you can donate, contact danielpritchardfoundation@gmail.com, or visit the Foundation on Facebook, at facebook.com/danielpritchardfoundation.
