District 4 Freeholder Candidates Face Off in Debate Tonight

District 4 Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholder candidates Cedar Grove Deputy Mayor Joseph Chiusolo and acting District 4 Freeholder Leonard Luciano are set to debate the issues tonight at a public forum at 7 p.m. at Verona High School, 151 Fairview Ave., Verona.

Chiusolo, 50, a Republican from Cedar Grove, is currently Deputy Mayor of Cedar Grove. Luciano, 50, a Democrat of West Caldwell, has held the seat formerly held by Linda Lordi Cavanaugh on an interim basis since August.

The candidates are vying for a three year seat on the nine-member Freeholder board. Last week, the candidates publicly sparred over a county-funded restaurant in West Orange at the county's South Mountain Recreation Complex.

The District 4 Freeholder represents 11 municipalities, including Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Essex Fells, Fairfield, Livingston, Millburn, North Caldwell, Roseland, Verona, West Caldwell and West Orange.

Election Day is Nov. 8.
