Driver Tells Verona Woman, 'I'll Pay For Car Crash' (It Didn’t Work Out, Cops Say)
A Verona woman let another driver off the hook with a promise to pay for the damage after a crash. It didn't work out, police say.

VERONA, NJ — A Verona driver exchanged info with another motorist after a crash earlier this month, letting them off with a promise to pay for the damage, only to find that she’d been given incorrect contact information, authorities say.
According to the Verona Police Department, a woman reported that she was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Oct. 2 during which she was rear-ended. Her car suffered damage to the bumper during the collision, she told officers.
Instead of filing a police report, the driver of the vehicle who struck the woman’s car promised to pay for the damages. She agreed, and the two exchanged their contact information, police said.
