Driving Safety Class In Verona May Help Save On Insurance: AARP

The AARP will hold a Smart Driver Class in Verona on Feb. 15. It can help some local drivers save money on insurance, organizers say.

VERONA, NJ — The AARP is offering motorists in the Verona area a chance to brush up on their driving skills, and possibly get a discount on their car insurance while they’re at it.

On Thursday, Feb. 15, the AARP will hold a “Smart Driver Class” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Avenue. Participants will receive a certificate on completion of the course that may be good for a premium reduction for three years from their insurance carrier (interested drivers should contact their provider to determine any possible discount).

While it’s designed as a refresher for drivers 50-years-old and over, the class is open to drivers of all ages. In some cases, NJ MVC points can be removed on completion of the class, according to the AARP.
