Elks Members From Cedar Grove, Nutley Take Polar Plunge
The frigid, wintertime dip was done to raise donations for disability awareness and a local family.

A pair of Elks Club members from Cedar Grove and Nutley took a frigid, wintertime dip in a Denville pond last weekend to raise donations for disability awareness and a local family.
On Saturday, Cedar Grove Elk former district deputy Leon Dupas and Nutley Elk district deputy Bob Mulligan jumped into a chilly Cook’s Pond in Denville for the Support Parents Advocating for Our Kids (SPARK) fundraiser.
The event raised money for Rich and Susan Reinhardt and their son, R.J., all Elks Club members in Orange, organizers said.

According to a news release from the Cedar Grove Elks Club:
“The goal is to provide their disabled son and friends with more than just a place to live. We’d like them to have the choice to live with those of their own choosing, with whom they are compatible in terms of age and abilities. In short, we want an opportunity for them to gain a sense of independence within the community they all know and love. Together, Leon and Bob raised over $600 thanks to your donations.”
The donation deadline is March 16, 2019. Interested community members can click here for more information (follow the below instructions to make a donation):
