The Cedar Grove Public Library will be celebrating National Library Week this year by hosting several contests, and expanding our already diverse offering of groups and activities. The library is hosting a short story writing competition for high school students, a library card design competition for middle school students, as well as a poster design contest for grades K-4. In addition, the Jr. Women’s Club is once again hosting their wonderful “Design a Bookmark” contest at the library. We’ll be handing out prizes to all the winners!
We are hosting a film discussion by Robert S. Gold on Count Basie on Wednesday April 13, at 3pm. We’ll be showing our first afternoon matinee at 1pm on Monday, April 11, the 1958 classic “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” starring the late, great Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman.
For children we have several activities planned. April 9 the Spring Bunny is visiting the library at 10 am, so stop by with your little ones! On Monday, April 11, the Library staff led by Miss Pat will welcome a visit from Korporate Kids. We will have the “Read to a Doggie” program Monday at 9:30 am, and then again on Friday at 4pm. We will still have our regularly scheduled story time on Thursday at 10am, and the Chess Club will meet at their standard time, 3:30 on Friday afternoon.
