On May 4th, 2013 Dylan Green, a 12 yr. old sixth-grader at Memorial Middle School in Cedar Grove will introduce and sign his brand new and hand drawn comic book at Essex County's largest and most respected comic and game store - Time Warp Comics and Games in Cedar Grove, NJ.
Dylan, an aspiring artist, has always had a fascination with comic books and illustrated novels. He began to draw at the age of two and has been extremely prolific ever since. Through the Montclair Art School, a school he has attended periodically, he entered and won a 2012 regional art show sponsored by a New Jersey Bank consortium. He was inspired to create his latest work "The Adventures of Sumo, Fred, Bob and Greg" - "The Living Blob" by the "sometimes" unsavory food being served in his school cafeteria. In "The Living Blob" the evil lunch lady serves the children an assortment of disgusting fare. One of the meals served is a green slop that transforms into a giant child-devouring living blob. It is up to Sumo, Fred, Bob and Greg (a talking chameleon) to somehow save the entire school and themselves from destruction.
Dylan has dreams of becoming an original comic artist where he hopes to create intricately drawn and boldly colored comic books that will have fans clamoring for them off store shelves around the world. He has had a specially keen interest in drawing characters based on animals. His drawings are non violent (there's no real violence in "the Living Blob" because children are sucked up and not chewed and everyone survives albeit with a sticky slime attached). His biggest influences have been the color comics in the Sunday papers. He adores reading old Calvin and Hobbes cartoons, the work of Jim Davis and Charles Schulz. He has also been influenced by the numerous Nintendo Characters that are seemingly ubiquitous in young peoples lives.

When David Bower, the owner and operator of Time Warp Comics and Games, finished reading Dylan's comic book he was impressed enough to offer Dylan his store to introduce the new work. David believes that by Dylan having a book-signing at his store he will be accomplishing two feats. One, his customers will have the opportunity to meet a new young talent that may one day be a comic author that they'll follow and read. Two, helping a young, dedicated artist and story teller gain the recognition he deserves for creating such a dynamic comic book. The date of the book-signing is Saturday May 4th, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Dylan lives in Cedar Grove with his Dad (John), his Mom (Lina), his brother (John John, age 11) and his two younger sisters (Jessica, age 10 and Mia, age 7). Dylan cares for his two pets, a turtle named Yoshi and a frog named Sammy.
