Our Lady of the Lake to Host 2nd Annual Oktoberfest

          Our Lady of the Lake, located at 32 Lakeside Avenue, Verona, NJ, will host its second annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 8th, 2011, from 6:00p.m. to 11:00p.m., under a grand tent.  The event will begin with a ceremonial keg tapping, followed by live entertainment, German and local fare, an assortment of beverages, tricky tray, and much more.

           New this year is Gewaltig Fünfzig-Fünfzig (“Enormous 50/50”).  Six thousand (6,000) tickets will be old at $10.00 per ticket.  Three winners will be chosen to split the prize money.  The 50/50 tickets can be
purchased online or in person at the OLL Parish rectory between 9am and 4pm, Monday through Friday.  Drawing at the Oktoberfest.  Winner need not be present.

            Come and see live performances by Verona’s own Alotta Colada, and Liz Wojtal and Next of Kin.  A German Um-Pah band will provide festive, traditional music.

            The German fare includes Bratwurst, Weistwurst, Knockwurst, potato salad, sauerkraut, Bavarian pretzels and homemade German Chocolate Cake.  Cuisine from local restaurants includes roasted turkey, smoked ham, pulled pork, potatoes, and stuffing.  Choose from a large selection of imported and craft beers, a variety of beers from local brewers, wine and soda . 

            Ticket can be purchased online.  Proceeds benefit the children and youth of the parish.
