Pianist Evan Mitchell will present a piano recital of “Four B’s: Music of Bach/Busoni, Beethoven, and the Liszt Sonata in B Minor”.
Mr. Mitchell grew up and began his studies in Montclair. He has been re-invited to perform after his successful appearance before an audience of over 200 at Temple Sholom in December, 2010.
The concert will include Ferruccio Busoni’s arrangement of the “Chaconne in D Minor” by JS Bach; Beethoven’s “Sonata in B-flat Major, Op. 22”; and the monumental “Sonata in B Minor” of Franz Liszt. Mr. Mitchell will provide program notes exploring the musical and pianistic genius of these composers, as well as his personal relationship to the works performed.
Admission is free, and seating is on a general admission basis at the door. The concert is generously sponsored by Dr Lynne B Harrison. Refreshments will be served.
