First Day Of Fall In Verona-Cedar Grove: Rain And Cloudy Skies Expected This Week

VERONA-CEDAR GROVE, NJ — A mix of rain and cloudy skies is expected this week in Verona and Cedar Grove as the first day of fall arrives.

The summer will officially bid the two towns adieu when the first day of astronomical fall begins on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The equinox will happen at 8:05 p.m.

The Old Farmer's Almanac Fall Forecast is predicting cooler and wetter conditions than usual in the Northeast parts of the U.S. this year.

Here’s what is in store for Verona and Cedar Grove this week, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Northeast wind around 7 mph.

Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. East wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Northeast wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63.

Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 64.

Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.
