Garbage Truck Runs Over Employee's Foot In Cedar Grove
Police: The 23-year-old employee tried to jump on to the rear of the truck while it was reversing and missed the step.
A garbage truck ran over an employee’s foot and lower leg during a workplace accident at Meadowbrook Lane and Brookshire Drive in Cedar Grove on Aug. 3.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, the incident took place around 10:13 a.m., when the 23-year-old employee tried to jump on to the rear of the truck while it was reversing and missed the step, dropping into the path of the truck.
The driver of the truck then ran over the employee’s foot and lower leg.

Emergency responders transported the injured employee to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson for treatment.
Police stated that there were no charges filed against the vehicle operator, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified of the incident.
