Hillbilly Wrestlers Crown Two County Champs, Cedar Grove Places 10th

Both Frank Greco and Joe Festa needed extra periods to win county titles on Saturday early evening at the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange.

Greco (182) pulled out a dramatic 6-5 victory over Seton Hall Prep's Kevin Matlon, outlasting him through four overtime periods. Festa (220) needed only three overtimes, but was able to squeeze out a 7-5 win over West Orange's Anthony Angelone. Paul Scully (113) also reached the county finals, but ran into defending state champion, Brenden Calas, and was pinned in the third round. Verona placed seventh overall, with 111 points. Nutley was the tournament's overall team winner.

Nick Santorelli (113), Glenn Forsyth (120), Colby Nighland (182) and Vin Cordasco (220) all reached the semifinals for Cedar Grove. The Panthers took 10th place with 73.5 points.
