Hundreds Will Walk for Arthritis at Verona Park This Sunday
7th Annual walk to honor individuals living with arthritis, raise money for cure.
This Sunday morning, hundreds of walkers will pound the pavement at Verona Park at the 7th Annual Arthritis Foundation Walk.
The event, which seeks to honor individuals who live with arthritis, while raising money to support the foundation's mission to eradicate the disease, is expected to draw more than 800 walkers.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 1 at Verona Park in Bloomfield Avenue in Verona. The ribbon cutting ceremony and start of the walk is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Local sponsors for the event include JAG Physical Therapy, Saint Barnabas Health Care System, Independent Order of Oddfellows, Bristol Meyers Squibb, CareOne at Livingston, and Homewatch Caregivers.
According to the Foundation, 1.7 million New Jersey residents suffer from the disease, including an estimated 9,000 children, which is more than the number of cases of juvenile diabetes in the state.
