Linn Drive Noise Feud Continues In Verona

A noise complaint debate between several Verona residents is keeping local police officers busy.

Verona, NJ - An apparent noise complaint debate between multiple Verona residents is keeping police officers busy.

In what is becoming a common occurrence in the Verona police blotter, authorities reported that a noise complaint feud between Linn Drive residents again required the assistance of local police.

The latest incident took place on Jan. 21, when police took a report of a dispute around 6 a.m. from one of the residents, who charged that her neighbor “makes noise at all hours of the night by banging the floors and walls and shouting in the apartment.”

The woman’s neighbor reportedly told police that his accuser is also making noise by banging on the walls.

Police advised both residents of complaint procedures.

However, this wasn’t the first time that Verona cops have been called to settle a noise war between Linn Drive neighbors.

In the space of the last 45 days, noise complaints were made on Jan. 8, Jan. 6, Dec. 31 and Dec. 28, according to police.

According to Verona township code, it is “unlawful for any person to make, continue or cause to be made or continued any loud, unnecessary or unusual noise or any noise which either annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others within the limits of the borough.”

This includes horns, radios, loudspeakers, “yelling and shouting,” animal noises and during certain times, leafblowers.

Violations can be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 90 days, or both.
