Man Arrested After Explicit Messages With Verona ‘Child’: Cops
Prosecutors allege the Clifton man thought he was communicating with an 11-year-old girl from Verona.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Authorities charged a Clifton man with attempted sexual assault after he allegedly engaged in “sexually explicit communications” with an individual he believed to be an 11-year-old girl from Verona.
On Tuesday, police executed a search warrant at the home of Roy Vaquero, 20, of Clifton. Vaquero was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, attempted sexual assault and attempted endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Members of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Verona Police Department and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the execution of the search warrant and Vaquero’s arrest, authorities said.

According to prosecutors, the charges arose after Vaquero allegedly engaged in sexually explicit communications with an individual he believed to be an 11-year-old girl.
In those communications, Vaquero allegedly instructed the “child” to perform sexual acts upon herself and to send him photographs. He also sent her adult pornography, prosecutors said.
