The Mental Health Association in New Jersey’s (MHANJ’s) NJ Mental Health Players will be providing interactive role plays as a component of Hackensack University Medical Center’s Inaugural International Integrative Behavioral Health Symposium, “The Third Revolution in Psychiatry,” on September 24 and 25, 2015, at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake. This program is designed to offer an overview of new and current modalities in Integrative Behavioral Health. The nationally known faculty will provide presentations for treating mind, body and spirit. The content will appeal to various healthcare providers including psychiatrists, internists, family practitioners, other physicians, psychologists, APNs, Nurses as well as other healthcare providers in the field. Members of the general public who have with an interest in psychiatry are welcome to attend.
“The interactive scenarios provide an impetus for professional dialogue on innovative ways to address medical and psychological challenges. They will be embedded into the program four different times, each followed by a panel discussion. Topics will cover opiate addiction, postpartum depression, co-occurring physical issues and depression, and co-occurring ADHD with rheumatoid arthritis and depression. NJ Mental Health Players value the opportunity to be used as a resource for this groundbreaking approach,” stated John Rogers, Director of the MHANJ’s interactive theater program. “Our partnership with Hackensack University Medical Center has represented great growth and wonderful challenge for our troupe of players.”
