Photo Gallery: Hundreds Walk All Night for LIVESTRONG
Cedar Grove All-School Council's LIVESTRONG event raises thousands.
Hundreds of walkers joined the Cedar Grove All-School Council's effort to raise money for the LIVESTRONG Foundation with an all-night walk-a-thon at Cedar Grove High School this weekend.
Dozens of miles were logged in the all-night event, which drew residents and students of all ages. Walkers were sponsored and raised money for every lap walked. All proceeds went towards improving the lives of those affected by cancer.
The event was held at Cedar Grove High School overnight from May 14 into May 15 until 6 a.m.

In a subsequent interview, All-School Council President Shea Sweeney expressed great pride and appreciation for what he called "a group effort."
"As President of All School Council, I had never in my four years of high school seen All School Council members more passionate and committed than I did in the planning for this event," he said.

"The things they pulled off to support this event amazed me - from arranging for a cancer survivor to speak to raising money from local businesses to sponsor us. As our faculy advisor admitted, Walk Long For LIVESTRONG was planned and pulled off solely by the student council members. It was a group effort.
Sweeney noted that the total amount of money raised and the total number of laps run are still being tabulated, but said that over $4,600 was raised before the first step of the walk-a-thon was taken.
