If you don't agree, say so. Just don't "push back."

"Whatever!"  Remember when that word hit its peak and was on everyone's lips? Almost everyday, it seems, new words and expressions come into our language via television and the variety of social media outlets.  Sometimes, they're enough to make a person cringe.

Let's leave aside for now the crass and vulgar words and expressions that have  made their way into everyday language. I'm taking about expressions such as "my bad." How awful does that sound? It doesn't even make sense!

My latest entry into the "Please, will you speak clearly" category is "Let me push back." What's wrong with "I don't agree" or "Please let me answer that"?
