Police Seeking 'Suspicious' Man Who Entered Verona Preschool

Male flees Gould Street school on Wednesday.

Verona police are seeking a “suspicious” man who entered Creative Beginnings Preschool on Wednesday morning.

According to police, an unknown male around 40 years-old entered the Gould Street school at 8:30 a.m., and began asking questions about available programs.

When a school employee started questioning the man about his child, he was evasive and his answers “did not make sense,” stated police.

When the school employee turned around, the man left the building.

Verona police responded to the school and conducted a search without finding the man, a release stated.

An investigation is ongoing.

Verona Police Chief Douglas Huber told Patch that the man left the school without incident, and didn’t approach any children.

“We’d just like to talk to him,” said Huber.

Police described the suspect as a white male in his “mid 40s,” around 6 feet 2 inches with a thin build, brown hair with some gray, and wearing glasses and a burgundy colored shirt. Police described the man’s vehicle as a burgundy 4-door sedan.
