Temporary Power Outage In Glen Ridge On Cold Day: Officials
Some residents in the south section of Glen Ridge in Essex County were temporarily left without power amid freezing-cold weather.

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Some residents in the south section of Glen Ridge in Essex County were temporarily left without power amid freezing-cold weather on Wednesday after a transformer malfunctioned, officials said.
The Glen Ridge Police Department issued the following alert at 1:14 p.m. on Jan. 30:
“Borough experiencing a power outage in south section of town due to a transformer malfunction. PSE&G on scene. Unknown ETA for restoration.”
Police offered the following instructions for local residents: “Stay warm. The Glen Ridge Library is open until 8 p.m. for residents for heating and power.”

The GRPD issued an update on the situation at 2:30 p.m.: "PSE&G reports that power has been restored. If you are still without power, please contact the police department at 973-748-5400."
